A blog chronicling my fall cruise from Boston to Bermuda aboard the NCL Dawn.

Transportation to Bermuda this visit will be via the NCL Dawn cruise ship departing Boston, Mass USA. We will be docking at the King's Naval Dockyard for approximately 3 days. Access to Hamilton the capital city is either by bus or ferry boat directly at the pier.
NCL Dawn has recently undergone a multi-million dollar renovation including all the principle public rooms as well as the passenger staterooms. This will by my third cruise with Norwegian Cruise Lines. I've sailed on the NCL Sky, the NCL Epic and now the NCL Dawn. Looking forward to a wonderful fall cruise to the island of Bermuda.
This will be my third visit to the island of Bermuda. The first time was in 1980 staying at the Belmont Hotel and Country Club. I even played the golf course and managed a decent game of golf. My final shot on the 18th hole was spectacular and I landed on the green in one shot, mind you it was only a par three. The far side of the green was Hamilton Harbour. The second time was aboard the Crown Princess during her inaugural season for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. The third time will be this upcoming cruise aboard the NCL Dawn.
Bermuda is a beautiful island paradise situated approximately 850 miles south east of Halifax, Nova Scotia. It is subtropical and therefore experiences mild weather year round. It is situated directly in the path of the Gulf Stream and is the northern point of the Bermuda Triangle. Bermuda is a member of the British Commonwealth of Nations and is self governing. Bermuda is a favorite destination of North Americans as it is less than an hour and a half from many major New England and Canadian cities by air. It is also a favorite cruise ship port with most ships staying in port for three or more days. Bermuda is known for its powder pink sand beaches, Easter Lilies, Bermuda Shorts, Moon Gates and the Rum Swizzle. The people of Bermuda are reserved but friendly and always smiling. Feel the love . . .

While visiting the Elbow Beach Hotel we must have lunch at the intimate Seahorse Grill situated directly shore side overlooking the Atlantic Ocean ... imagine enjoying a Rum Swizzle and a light al fresco lunch enjoying this spectacular view ... does it get any better?
Did you know the swizzle stick was invented in Bermuda, specifically for their signature drink, the Rum Swizzle . . .
The Elbow Beach Hotel . . . an understated luxurious Mandarin Oriental sea side resort in Bermuda . . . we will purchase two day passes to their private beach club which will offer us with full access to their private beach, showers, change rooms and use of the day spa as well as the restaurants and bars on the property . . . a nice light lunch may be in order at the Seahorse Grill shown in one of the pictures directly overlooking the Atlantic Ocean . . . conincidently this hotel is the home of the scooter rental company we are getting our scooters from while in Bermuda ... sun, sea and sand Bermuda style . . . can't wait!
